Hey y'all. You know we have a new collection coming in March. I think y'all know. π€¨ Did you know we published one last night? πποΈ 'Sports Gnomes--Play All Day,' β½οΈππβΎοΈπ₯πΎπinfluenced by my kids, was announced. π£ Don't forget we're offering free shipping π΅ π« on all orders through St. Patrick's Day π (not just the St Pat's Day collection, either. Everything).
So. As I was designing the 'Sports Gnomes' collection, I thought maybe I'd just focus on kids this time. Maybe grown-ups won't be as into sports cartoons & gnomes on their own clothes as they would for their kids' clothes. That got me thinking, maybe that needs to be where I go with all my merchandise! Maybe that's my thing! Is that my niche?! Or is the fact that gnomes are featured on 75% of my products niche enough? Would I be limiting myself too much? I made a list of pros and cons:
PROS of switching:
-kids' clothing is adorable π
-you can sell it for cheaper π΅
-kids like cartoons/gnomes more, likely, than adults
-sell to teams for shirts π
-parents are often more about shopping for their kids than themselves π£
CONS of switching:
-alot of the items I like are for adults (maybe less fun) π₯Ή
-I won't be able to shop for myself and I'm prob my best customer π
-the leads I've gotten so far might not be interested any more (but I would just have to make it well known that I do custom orders, including for adults) π€¨
-it would be hard to make the above well known, unless I continued designing for adults π€π³π
Seriously, you're a quiet bunch, and I know y'all are reading--I can see the numbers ;) In spite of your quiet tendencies normally, I'm hoping y'all can weigh in on this. Really, what do you think? Drop a comment and let us know. It would be amazing to have some input before making a decision--and I don't wanna by myself--I don't always have the best judgment. Ask my husband. π€ͺππ
Thanks for reading, y'all. Have a good day!
*Edit to add--PS: don't forget to sign up for Mama Gnome Shop's newsletter list, if you haven't already. I promise we don't abuse your info--that's an advantage of being a small company.
