Gnome Sized Secrets: Getting to Know Me & My Crew

Published on 27 February 2025 at 08:39

Hey, y'all, hope you're well! Thanks for stopping by, as always! I was thinking, you don't really know me and my gnomies--and that should change. πŸ€ͺ In the sake of getting to know each other, I made a little list of things you may (or may not) find interesting. 😎

Where I live...

I live in the basic vicinity of Columbus, Ohio, πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ and have my whole life (minus two years I spent in Arizona--it was amazing!). While in Arizona I had my youngest child, Logan, 🍼 so that's his birthplace--and he's never been (other than the first couple days of his life; we moved back home with a newborn. πŸ‘Ά That was a fun trip. And that was sarcasm, friends). 🚘

My age...

I am 39 years old for the rest of my life. Yes, even when my hair is all gray, πŸ‘΅ as my kids often ask me. They thought I was nuts when I first told them this new rule about my age, but they're used to it now. I never was a woman who cared about her age--it is what it is, I thought. Until I turned 3️⃣9️⃣. There's just something about it. Some of y'all know what I mean. πŸ™ƒ

Our marriage...

My husband and I are each other's second marriage. πŸ’ Yep, we each have an ex-spouse. πŸ’” We met each other in our thirties and felt an instant connection. πŸ‘©‍❀️‍πŸ’‹‍πŸ‘¨ He's the male version of me and vice versa. That either makes for a really great situation or a really bad situation. 😬

My kids' names...

All three kids' names start with a 'L.' Their names are Lily, Luke, and Logan. I thought it was a cute idea. πŸ’•1 star--Do not recommend. ⭐️ Especially for when you start getting old.

The ages of my kids...

My two oldest are Irish twins. πŸ‘― They're just over a year apart, so that makes them Irish twins, no? Do they have to be exactly a year apart? πŸŽ‚ Well, now I don't know. I'll google it πŸ›œ (my daughter says that's an old lady thing to say, but--it used to be that google was the only thing around! I guess admitting I was around for that does make me old. Whatever...)

My spoken language...

I learned french πŸ‡«πŸ‡·simultaneously with English when I was a little girl. My mom's super close friend was my sitter, and she was from France. I've forgotten most of it by now, minus a thing or two. I should totally re-learn it! πŸ™ƒ

My husband's spoken language...

My husband's first language is Spanish. πŸ‡΅πŸ‡·You can definitely hear his accent when he speaks but his English is so good that it'll confuse you. He learned from the U.S. Army, so that must be why it's so great. Plus he's super smart. It's hard to learn another language! 🀟

My profession...

I'm a nurse πŸ’‰ (you may already know this), actually a nurse practitioner, πŸ€“ but not practicing. 🩺 I manage a group of wonderful nurses that provide hospice care to terminally ill patients. I. Love. It. ❀️ There's nothing else in the world I would do than be a nurse, and I'm ready to be not bedside so my job is perfect. Plus I love my team!

My secret hobby...

I love to sing, 🎀 but I'm so not good at it. I'll sing my head off, 🎢 and think I sound good, but based on the looks my family gives me, I don't. 😳

The kids' future professions...

Logan wants to be a teacher, πŸ‘¨‍🏫 Luke a professional soccer player, ⚽️ and Lily will likely manage the world. 🌎 She does at our house anyway. 🀭 All I can say with certainty about Miss Lily's future plans is that she's always said she doesn't want kids because they don't let you sleep. πŸ’€ She knew from firsthand experience.

Would you have guessed?...

I have 7 tattoos--and they all have a special meaning. πŸ’šβ€οΈπŸŒ» I've got more to get, too! I've got plans! I'll tell y'all about them later, πŸ“£maybe I'll give you a peek, we'll see. πŸ‘€

If there's anything else you want to know, I'm pretty much an open book. Ask anyone who knows me IRL. Ask away! Post it in the comments...let's get that section full!
